Charles H. Hudson is the founder of Hudson Consulting, Inc. He has over 30 years of strong management and consulting experience, ranging from start up to large corporate clients. He works with companies in transition (both growth and crisis). His approach requires him to spend enough time with each client to learn the history of their business, their goals and objectives, and help them along their planned path. As a process consultant, his purpose is to help individuals and organizations find their purposes and then to facilitate their transitions. A central theme of his approach is his model of “the stages of growth for each organization and the process” necessary to be successful at each stage of growth. He maintains a strategic forum while facilitating tactical execution.
Management Experience:
Chuck serves clients at the owner and senior management level. He establishes functional executive committees to focus on key issues and directs the committees to achieve the short-term and long-term goals necessary to make the company successful. He is a strategic facilitator, mentor and coach. During this process he leads the group through implementation projects. He can also assist in the responsibility for marketing, administrative support and the personnel administration necessary to locate, hire, and train the required management team. At other times he can work behind the scenes to coach and mentor a key member of the company as they work with their team. This is the key to the success of the organization and the successful transitions of the team members.
Normally the time spent with a client is several years due to the long-term process of company growth. Chuck organizes the executive committee and meets with them on a weekly basis. This process gives sufficient time to plan and review results. The weekly meetings give the team a process to review results and work on continuous improvement. Chuck insists on a management information system that includes cost accounting system, detailed critical number weekly reports, and monthly reviews of the results by him and his clients. These systems must be focused on the key performance indicators of the organization. It is a proactive rather than reactive approach.
According to Chuck, “Business owners and professionals have to concentrate their attention on the productive aspect of their business. They do not have time to supervise the accounting function, plan for cash needs, meet with their bankers routinely, periodically review the results of operations as compared to budget, and do all the other financial and administrative necessities of a business. They need an experienced professional to perform these duties in an ongoing relationship; someone who will bring the critical items to their attention.”
