52-10 Vision
A vision is a story or picture of where you want to go and what you want to accomplish in the future.
Your vision needs to be developed to the point that it can be shared with others. It needs to be quantified so the parameters can be shared, tested and adjusted. The quantified parameters become the key performance indicators.
When I work with new clients I start by asking them to share their vision and then we use an excel spreadsheet to develop that vision into a set of goals or objectives. How far into the future depends on how strategic or tactical the client is.
I start by asking them to close their eyes and think into their future. How far out can they see? A very strategic person can see years. A very tactical person sees days and months. A good organization needs both types.
The goal is to develop a vision that all types can understand and help implement.
An example of a shared vision is a successful franchise opportunity. The successful franchises are able to give prospects a clear vision with all of the quantifiable outcomes if you follow the instructions.
The plans are detailed and the instruction and training clear. You just need to follow them and you have a high probability of success.
This is what you are trying to develop for your vision and plan.
